Pre (band)

Pre, often written as PRE, is a British noise rock band releasing music on the labels Skin Graft Records and Lovepump United. It is based in London and was formed around 2005 with singer Akiko Matsuura, known for taking the stage in only her underwear and extensive stage diving. Pre includes former members of Todd and Seafood. Guitar player John Webb is also a member of the noise rock band Male Bonding along with Kevin Hendrick.

PRE-084 is a sigma receptor agonist, selective for the σ₁ subtype. It has nootropic and antidepressant actions in animal studies, as well as antitussive and reinforcing effects. PRE-084 increases the expression of GDNF.

HP Pre 3

The HP Pre 3, styled as Pre³ /ˈpriː/, is a touchscreen slider smartphone manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. The device uses webOS, is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and has a 3.6-inch screen. It is conceptually the successor to the Palm Prē 2 and earlier Prē and Prē Plus models.

History

The HP Pre 3 was announced on February 9, 2011, at the HP webOS "Think Beyond" event held at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco alongside the Veer and TouchPad. It was commercially released in the United Kingdom on August 17, 2011.

The device supports a new Touch-to-Share proximity-based sharing feature, which allows compatible devices (such as the TouchPad) to instantly exchange data, media, and information via Bluetooth. The Pre 3 has 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB internal storage, Bluetooth v2.1, and a 1230 mAh battery. A 16 GB model was manufactured for AT&T and Verizon in the United States, both models were never released to the general public.

The Pre 3 was released on August 17, 2011, in the United Kingdom. The next day, August 18, HP announced that it would be discontinuing all webOS devices, including the Pre 3. The phone was never officially released in the United States, although models eventually were sold through the HP employee store in California, and many of those phones ended up on eBay auctions.

Force (Superfly album)

Force is the fourth studio album by Japanese pop-rock unit Superfly. It was released on September 19, 2012. Force commemorates the group's fifth anniversary and was released in several formats, including a special fifth anniversary edition which includes a bonus CD (included with the first-press releases), a vinyl version of the album, and a commemorative poster. Japanese convenience store Lawson will also exclusively sell a special edition of the album which includes a bonus DVD. On the iTunes Store, the album will be packaged with one bonus track, with a second reserved for those who pre-ordered the album.

The album's title comes from both the English word "force" as well as the similarity between the Japanese pronunciations of "force" and "fourth".

To support Force, Superfly is going on two separate tours, the "Live Force" national concert hall tour from October 2012 through January 2013 and the tentatively titled "Superfly Arena Tour 2013" in March and April 2013.

Force (song)

"Force" is a song by Japanese rock unit Superfly. It is a song from the album of the same name, serving as its title track. It is being released as a re-cut single on October 31, 2012. The song, on its own, is used as the theme song for the TV Asahi drama Doctor X, and as a radio single reached 46 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

The Force (Star Wars)

The Force is a binding, metaphysical, and ubiquitous power in the fictional universe of the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. Introduced in the first Star Wars film (1977), it is wielded primarily by the Jedi and Sith monastic orders and is a part of all subsequent Star Wars works, including the Star Wars Legends collection of comic books, novels, and video games. The line "May the Force be with you", spoken in each of the Star Wars films, has become part of the pop culture vernacular and is iconic of the series.

Depiction

In the original Star Wars film (1977), later dubbed A New Hope, the Force is first described by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi:

Throughout the series, characters exhibit various paranormal powers that rely on the Force, such as telekinesis and empathy. The Force has a negative and destructive aspect called the "dark side", which feeds off emotions such as fear, anger, greed, pride, jealousy and hate. Jedi Master Yoda explains to his pupil Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back (1980):

Concrete (Fear Factory album)

Concrete is an album by Fear Factory, released on July 30, 2002. It contains demos of songs recorded in 1991, and all of them (except "Concrete", "Sangre de Niños", "Soulwomb", "Echoes of Innocence", "Deception", "Anxiety", "Piss Christ" and "Ulceration") were re-recorded a year later on their debut album Soul of a New Machine.

Album information

Although released in 2002, Concrete was originally recorded in 1991 in Blackie Lawless's studios. It was intended to be their first release, but the band wasn't happy with the record deal they were in, so they left their producer, Ross Robinson.

When they were taken to court, Robinson won the rights to the album, and the band won the rights to the songs. So Fear Factory ended up re-recording eight of the tracks from this album for their official 1992 debut, Soul of a New Machine. Fear Factory recorded under the name "Factoría de Miedo" (which is Fear Factory in Spanish) to hide from their label.

Incidentally, Robinson ended up using this album to promote himself, which would eventually lead him to producing Korn, which would make him the most sought-out nu metal producer of the 1990s. The band's record label (Roadrunner) released this album after their (now temporary) breakup to fulfill their contractual duties.
